Australia : Sydney Day Three

Bondi Beach

Finally, a day for the beach!  We got a ride to Bondi (pronounced Bond-eye) Beach in the morning and when we got to the sand, found a delicious breakfast place.  There was a bit of fog still sitting above us, but it cleared up in time for us to finish our meal and get to walking!  The cement walls that separate parking from sand are all painted in panels and seem to go on forever.  Rachal and I admired them for a while before starting our trek to Bronte Beach.

Bondi to Coogee Trek

This was an amazing coastal walk over sand and cliffs with beautiful views of the water.  We passed up the infinity pool at Bondi and found a way less crowded (also free) one by Bronte!  I was more than stoked to put my bikini on and get it the water.  What a cool experience to be in the pool with waves crashing on you and ruining your cute friend photos!

TIP: only bring your waterproof gear in the pool, no matter how “safe” you think you’ll be!  Those waves can sneak right up behind you.

Rachal and I spent quite a bit of time here soaking up the sun.  Highly suggest packing your bathing suit and changing in the bathrooms that are super close by.  That way you won’t have to worry about hiking in your wet bottoms all day! Our last stop was at Tamarama beach which was just as beautiful as the last, just stunning.

Village Coffee

After playing in the water for most of the afternoon, we decided to find some food.  There was a certain place mentioned to us to try, but it ended up being cash only and neither of us had any, so we found the closest ATM.  Unfortunately, it stopped working after the guy before us and we gave up.  Our walk continued and finally we stumbled upon Village Coffee.  They had such a personable staff, the food was delicious, and their smoothies were to DIE FOR! I’m talking best smoothies I’ve ever had in my short life.  I had a burger with fries which was pretty tasty, but the smoothie is what blew both of us away.  The staff was constantly asking how our time was there and since it wasn’t too busy, we had wonderful conversation before continuing on our journey.

Luna Park

If you haven’t noticed, I like walking to get everywhere I can, so I dragged Rachal a million and a half miles.  Finally, she convinced me on getting a ride across the bridge over to Luna Park.  We were told that it is no longer in use, but that you could still walk around the park.  That ended up being a lie!  We showed up around 1730 to walk around and take pictures but saw that the rides were going (so obviously we went to buy tickets).  The cashier was nice enough to tell us that at 1800 tickets are cheaper for unlimited rides.  So, duh, we waited the 30 minutes and went on every single ride, got food, and had a great time watching all the lights and people.  For such a small amusement park, I was pretty impressed.
